Narrative:
During climb out at 4000 ft MSL, a master warning signaled indicating that both the main and backup pitch trim system were inoperative. At the time, I was flying and the captain was running the QRH with the emergency checklists. After the captain had communicated with dispatch and maintenance, he made the decision that we would return to the field (sdf). We made an uneventful landing (flaps 22 degrees and landing speeds adjusted per the QRH). After taxiing to the gate, maintenance reset the system and completed all of the requirements. The flight departed again normally, but delayed. Upon further investigation by the captain, we discovered the emergency checklist in the QRH was part of an old revision and was incomplete. The new revision, however, was available in our company issued poh's. After checking several other company aircraft, the captain noticed they too had old QRH revisions.

Title: WHILE COMPLYING WITH REQUIREMENTS OF LOSS OF PITCH TRIM EMER PROCS, E145 CREW LEARNS THAT ON BOARD QRH IS OUT OF DATE.
Narrative: DURING CLBOUT AT 4000 FT MSL, A MASTER WARNING SIGNALED INDICATING THAT BOTH THE MAIN AND BACKUP PITCH TRIM SYS WERE INOP. AT THE TIME, I WAS FLYING AND THE CAPT WAS RUNNING THE QRH WITH THE EMER CHKLISTS. AFTER THE CAPT HAD COMMUNICATED WITH DISPATCH AND MAINT, HE MADE THE DECISION THAT WE WOULD RETURN TO THE FIELD (SDF). WE MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG (FLAPS 22 DEGS AND LNDG SPDS ADJUSTED PER THE QRH). AFTER TAXIING TO THE GATE, MAINT RESET THE SYS AND COMPLETED ALL OF THE REQUIREMENTS. THE FLT DEPARTED AGAIN NORMALLY, BUT DELAYED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY THE CAPT, WE DISCOVERED THE EMER CHKLIST IN THE QRH WAS PART OF AN OLD REVISION AND WAS INCOMPLETE. THE NEW REVISION, HOWEVER, WAS AVAILABLE IN OUR COMPANY ISSUED POH'S. AFTER CHKING SEVERAL OTHER COMPANY ACFT, THE CAPT NOTICED THEY TOO HAD OLD QRH REVISIONS.
