Narrative:

During takeoff roll a caution message was presented after 80 knots. Flight crew continued the takeoff as the message was not detrimental to the safety of the flight. After takeoff the flight crew became distracted with the caution message and did not complete the after takeoff checklist resulting in the flaps remaining in the 9 degree position. Aircraft was leveled off at 10000 feet and accelerated to 290 before we realized that the flaps were still at 9 degrees. Flaps were oversped by 40 knots for what the flight crew believes to be only 10 seconds. As the plane leveled at 10000 feet; the pilot flying depressed the cruise flight mode button and noticed that the aircraft was still in the altitude-to-1 mode which prompted me to check the flap configuration. [Incident resulted from] task saturation and distraction from a caution message on the takeoff roll. Flight crew should place emphasis on the completion of checklists and should focus on other problems after the airplane has been configured for the appropriate phase of flight.
