Narrative:
I question my company's interpretation of FARS. After flying an international trip ksdf-tjsj-ksdf that exceeded 8 hours (8 + 16), I feel I am required 16 hours of rest before assignment to a domestic trip. Far 121.503 (B) 'each pilot who has flown more than 8 hours during any 24 consecutive hours must be given at least 16 hours of rest before being assigned to any duty with the air carrier or commercial operator.' my company does not feel this applies to crew members transitioning from international to domestic.
