Narrative:
While in cruise flight at 17000' the right oil pressure light came on, and we checked their oil pressure gauge and it was below the red line. Along with this the engine started to surge as it was starting to wind down. The captain idented the #2 engine stop and feather knob and I idented it and pulled it. I pulled out the emergency checklist and we proceeded to finish the procedure. I finished the checklist while the captain had the aircraft under control and called center and declared our emergency. The captain told them what happened and asked where the nearest suitable airfield was. We were told huntington was at our 3 O'clock and 15 mi. We proceeded to huntington airport and shot the ILS 30 approach with no further problems. Upon landing at the airport we were met by crash rescue and maintenance personnel. We discovered an oil leak which had emptied all the oil from the engine. I believe if we had not shut the engine down when we did, the engine would have seized up. The whole situation went just like clock work and how we were trained to do.

Title: FLT CREW OF COMMUTER TURBOPROP EXPERIENCES ENGINE FAILURE WHILE CRUISING AT 17000' DUE TO ENGINE OIL LEAK. FLT MAKES EMERGENCY LNDG AT HHG.
Narrative: WHILE IN CRUISE FLT AT 17000' THE R OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON, AND WE CHKED THEIR OIL PRESSURE GAUGE AND IT WAS BELOW THE RED LINE. ALONG WITH THIS THE ENG STARTED TO SURGE AS IT WAS STARTING TO WIND DOWN. THE CAPT IDENTED THE #2 ENG STOP AND FEATHER KNOB AND I IDENTED IT AND PULLED IT. I PULLED OUT THE EMER CHKLIST AND WE PROCEEDED TO FINISH THE PROC. I FINISHED THE CHKLIST WHILE THE CAPT HAD THE ACFT UNDER CTL AND CALLED CTR AND DECLARED OUR EMER. THE CAPT TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED AND ASKED WHERE THE NEAREST SUITABLE AIRFIELD WAS. WE WERE TOLD HUNTINGTON WAS AT OUR 3 O'CLOCK AND 15 MI. WE PROCEEDED TO HUNTINGTON ARPT AND SHOT THE ILS 30 APCH WITH NO FURTHER PROBS. UPON LNDG AT THE ARPT WE WERE MET BY CRASH RESCUE AND MAINT PERSONNEL.
