Narrative:
On an VFR flight from billings mt, to las vegas, nv, I decided to make a comfort stop for one of my passengers at ogden-hinckley airport. 35 NM from the north of the salt lake city TCA, I radioed approach control and received a squawk code. I was cleared to descend and did so while being vectored towards my destination. Approximately 10 mi out I thought I had the field in sight and informed approach, 'field in sight.' a high concentration of lights makes if hard to discriminate ogden-hinckley and hill AFB at night. Salt lake approach handed me off to the tower at ogden hinckley field, they instructed me to make a left downwind entry for runway 34. I made a turn so as to parallel the course downwind and began running through the before landing checklist. Shortly thereafter I began descent to land at what I thought was ogden-hickley, as I turned for final approach I received 'cleared to land' from ogden-hickley tower, during my roll out during landing I was asked to say position. Unfortunately I had arrived at hill AFB.
