Narrative:
My copilot and I had an uneventful trip from ptk to cyqk. After we cleared customs, we were inspected by a department of transportation official. He said everything was in order, but in order to prove that the aircraft is airworthy we should carry the aircraft logbooks with us. I have checked the USA regulations and the canadian regulations. None address this issue for a part 91 operators. I have also checked with the nbaa and they said they have never heard of this before. Even though there is no mention of a requirement to carry the aircraft logbooks into canada, we will in the future. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information. The reporter was contacted to determine if there had been any followup by canadian authorities. The reporter indicated that he had sent copies of the relevant logbook pages to the ministry of transport aci, who indicated that the matter was considered closed.
