Narrative:
My clearance from rno clearance delivery was 'cleared to 056 via mustang 1 departure, then as filed.' I had prefiled via dtc duat for 'rno-fmg-V6-sac-sgd-056,' however rno approach had my clearance as 'rno via FMG1.fmg to fmg, then V392 to sac.' no problem or far violation here, but 'cleared as filed' is potentially dangerous if the crew and ATC have different versions of the clearance.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: GA SMA RECEIVED A CLRNC AS FILED CLRNC FROM RNO, BUT LATER DISCOVERED HIS FILED FLT PLAN AND THE FLT PLAN BEING USED BY ATC WERE NOT THE SAME.
Narrative: MY CLRNC FROM RNO CLRNC DELIVERY WAS 'CLRED TO 056 VIA MUSTANG 1 DEP, THEN AS FILED.' I HAD PREFILED VIA DTC DUAT FOR 'RNO-FMG-V6-SAC-SGD-056,' HOWEVER RNO APCH HAD MY CLRNC AS 'RNO VIA FMG1.FMG TO FMG, THEN V392 TO SAC.' NO PROB OR FAR VIOLATION HERE, BUT 'CLRED AS FILED' IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IF THE CREW AND ATC HAVE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THE CLRNC.
