Narrative:
Understood and read back clearance to hold at falmouth at 14000' as published. Right-hand turns, 10 mi legs. Expect further clearance at XX45Z. There was a small area of rain showers over falmouth at the time. When we reported holding we said we would like to hold at a different location because of the WX. The controller then came back and told us the holding clearance was for the 180 degree right off falmouth at 10 DME. Right-hand turns so we proceeded to go to the 180 degree right at 10 DME to enter holding pattern. We mentioned to the controller that we understood the clearance was to hold at falmouth. Part of the problem was that the controller read off the holding clearance west/O telling that he had a holding clearance for us. In retrospect, we should have had the controller repeat the clearance.

Title: ACR MLG ENTERED AHD AT THE WRONG PLACE.
Narrative: UNDERSTOOD AND READ BACK CLRNC TO HOLD AT FALMOUTH AT 14000' AS PUBLISHED. RIGHT-HAND TURNS, 10 MI LEGS. EXPECT FURTHER CLRNC AT XX45Z. THERE WAS A SMALL AREA OF RAIN SHOWERS OVER FALMOUTH AT THE TIME. WHEN WE RPTED HOLDING WE SAID WE WOULD LIKE TO HOLD AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION BECAUSE OF THE WX. THE CTLR THEN CAME BACK AND TOLD US THE HOLDING CLRNC WAS FOR THE 180 DEG R OFF FALMOUTH AT 10 DME. RIGHT-HAND TURNS SO WE PROCEEDED TO GO TO THE 180 DEG R AT 10 DME TO ENTER HOLDING PATTERN. WE MENTIONED TO THE CTLR THAT WE UNDERSTOOD THE CLRNC WAS TO HOLD AT FALMOUTH. PART OF THE PROB WAS THAT THE CTLR READ OFF THE HOLDING CLRNC W/O TELLING THAT HE HAD A HOLDING CLRNC FOR US. IN RETROSPECT, WE SHOULD HAVE HAD THE CTLR REPEAT THE CLRNC.
