Narrative:
Was cleared for takeoff from dal IFR to hou (via heading 180 to join V369...). I was handed off to dfw center 133.3 by regional approach. 8 mins after departure I was reclred to houston via direct to LOA VOR, direct. The controller never heard me read back the amended clearance neither did I hear him again until 26 min later. Upon receiving the amended clearance I was on the LOA 330 right. Subsequently I flew on that right. 15 NM northwest of LOA I had a sudden full scale deflection which I corrected by a 20 degree left turn. I ended up passing some 3 DME west of the station. My radio tested fine. Everything seemed to be normal. I didn't hear any communication, neither did I see any other traffic. South of LOA, in houston airspace I started to radio check dfw center for a handoff. No answer, not unusual. A few mins later I was not pointed out some opp direction traffic below me. I switched to communication #2 and told center of that inexplicable radio failure radio communication #1 tested fine at all times. I was handed off to hou center and landed at hou west/O any further problems.

Title: SMA CARGO ACFT ON NIGHT FLT EXPERIENCES RADIO FAILURE NOT DETECTED UNTIL ARRIVING IN TERMINAL AIRSPACE AND RECTIFIED BY SWITCHING TO OTHER COM.
Narrative: WAS CLRED FOR TKOF FROM DAL IFR TO HOU (VIA HDG 180 TO JOIN V369...). I WAS HANDED OFF TO DFW CTR 133.3 BY REGIONAL APCH. 8 MINS AFTER DEP I WAS RECLRED TO HOUSTON VIA DIRECT TO LOA VOR, DIRECT. THE CTLR NEVER HEARD ME READ BACK THE AMENDED CLRNC NEITHER DID I HEAR HIM AGAIN UNTIL 26 MIN LATER. UPON RECEIVING THE AMENDED CLRNC I WAS ON THE LOA 330 R. SUBSEQUENTLY I FLEW ON THAT R. 15 NM NW OF LOA I HAD A SUDDEN FULL SCALE DEFLECTION WHICH I CORRECTED BY A 20 DEG L TURN. I ENDED UP PASSING SOME 3 DME W OF THE STATION. MY RADIO TESTED FINE. EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE NORMAL. I DIDN'T HEAR ANY COM, NEITHER DID I SEE ANY OTHER TFC. S OF LOA, IN HOUSTON AIRSPACE I STARTED TO RADIO CHK DFW CTR FOR A HDOF. NO ANSWER, NOT UNUSUAL. A FEW MINS LATER I WAS NOT POINTED OUT SOME OPP DIRECTION TFC BELOW ME. I SWITCHED TO COM #2 AND TOLD CTR OF THAT INEXPLICABLE RADIO FAILURE RADIO COM #1 TESTED FINE AT ALL TIMES. I WAS HANDED OFF TO HOU CTR AND LANDED AT HOU W/O ANY FURTHER PROBS.
