Narrative:
At approximately xa:48 while departing runway xx at ZZZZ airport; both the captain and I noticed we did not have any airspeed indications on takeoff. We aborted the takeoff roll at what we estimate was approximately 90 KTS and exited the runway at the end. After returning to the gate; the mechanic came to the cockpit and informed us that he had not removed the pitot tube covers before we left the gate and that was the problem. I had not noticed them on my pre-flight walk around as the ramp is very dark; and the covers are not the normal type we are used to seeing. They are dark red in color and hard to see. After maintenance did their inspection; we departed without further incident.
