Narrative:
Landed at wrong airport as it turned it was a controled field called buttonville. I thought it was an uncontrolled field called maple. The uncontrolled field no longer is there on new charts. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: reporter grievously admits error of flying with outdated charts. This was his first venture outside the us and he was really trying to do everything by the book. However, tower controller stated the airport has been gone for more than 2 yrs and current chart is the first to not show it. After landing reporter noticed very low tower. Asked line man if controled field and requested frequency. Contact tower and stated he thought he had 'just committed a grievous sin.' controller asked him to bring chart to tower, then 'firmly' suggested he invest in a current chart. Took all aircraft and personal information.

Title: SMA LANDS AT WRONG ARPT WITH NO TWR CONTACT.
Narrative: LANDED AT WRONG ARPT AS IT TURNED IT WAS A CTLED FIELD CALLED BUTTONVILLE. I THOUGHT IT WAS AN UNCONTROLLED FIELD CALLED MAPLE. THE UNCONTROLLED FIELD NO LONGER IS THERE ON NEW CHARTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: RPTR GRIEVOUSLY ADMITS ERROR OF FLYING WITH OUTDATED CHARTS. THIS WAS HIS FIRST VENTURE OUTSIDE THE U.S. AND HE WAS REALLY TRYING TO DO EVERYTHING BY THE BOOK. HOWEVER, TWR CTLR STATED THE ARPT HAS BEEN GONE FOR MORE THAN 2 YRS AND CURRENT CHART IS THE FIRST TO NOT SHOW IT. AFTER LNDG RPTR NOTICED VERY LOW TWR. ASKED LINE MAN IF CTLED FIELD AND REQUESTED FREQ. CONTACT TWR AND STATED HE THOUGHT HE HAD 'JUST COMMITTED A GRIEVOUS SIN.' CTLR ASKED HIM TO BRING CHART TO TWR, THEN 'FIRMLY' SUGGESTED HE INVEST IN A CURRENT CHART. TOOK ALL ACFT AND PERSONAL INFO.
