Narrative:
While turning downwind, aircraft engine failed suddenly. In my judgement could not return to airport. Turned 60 degrees right for closest field. Landed in field and came to rest against a fence. Aircraft damaged to right wing tip and tail wheel assembly. Propeller separated from engine at time of failure. Pilot unhurt. Damage only to aircraft.

Title: ENGINE HAD INSTANT FAILURE. PROPELLER DEPARTED THE ACFT. PLT UNABLE TO RETURN TO ARPT AND LANDED IN FIELD. ACFT DAMAGED.
Narrative: WHILE TURNING DOWNWIND, ACFT ENG FAILED SUDDENLY. IN MY JUDGEMENT COULD NOT RETURN TO ARPT. TURNED 60 DEGS RIGHT FOR CLOSEST FIELD. LANDED IN FIELD AND CAME TO REST AGAINST A FENCE. ACFT DAMAGED TO RIGHT WING TIP AND TAIL WHEEL ASSEMBLY. PROP SEPARATED FROM ENG AT TIME OF FAILURE. PLT UNHURT. DAMAGE ONLY TO ACFT.
