Narrative:
Departed flying west airport in nj in small aircraft X. Climbed to 2000' navigating on 330 degree right of pne VOR. Called pne tower when 7 mi to the east for clearance through air traffic area and was given clearance through. When 5 mi west asked for frequency change and given permission. Called willow grove tower and reported 5 mi east. Was told to stand by as they were watching landing traffic. Willow grove called and asked aircraft calling. Reported my position at 4 east and was told to identify. Hit the identify button and nothing happened so I recycled transponder and identify willow grove asked my position again and I reported 2 mi east and was told to make an immediate right turn, aircraft Y on final or runway 33. We were told to stay on east side of airport runway centerline. Willow grove asked if we were given any traffic advisories when under pne control. We said no advisories given but we saw aircraft being worked by willow grove. They said we did nothing wrong. It was an operational error on either pne tower or nxx gca. Control did not issue traffic advisories to me but they might have to contact me for more information so they took my name and phone #. I asked how close they came to us and was told less than 1 mi. Again was told I did nothing wrong.

Narrative: DEPARTED FLYING W ARPT IN NJ IN SMA X. CLBED TO 2000' NAVIGATING ON 330 DEG R OF PNE VOR. CALLED PNE TWR WHEN 7 MI TO THE E FOR CLRNC THROUGH ATA AND WAS GIVEN CLRNC THROUGH.
