Narrative:
Training for aop-asf instrument refresher. Departing lgb assigned heading after takeoff. Missed ATC call regarding traffic departing into setting sun. Took evasive action to avoid traffic entering downwind. At that point had been instructing duty time 10 hours flight time 7 hours. Fatigued by long car drive previous day, short nights sleep.

Title: REPORTER ALLEGEDLY HAD TRAFFIC CONFLICT AS HE TOOK OFF LGB DURING TRAINING FLT.
Narrative: TRNING FOR AOP-ASF INSTRUMENT REFRESHER. DEPARTING LGB ASSIGNED HDG AFTER TKOF. MISSED ATC CALL REGARDING TFC DEPARTING INTO SETTING SUN. TOOK EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID TFC ENTERING DOWNWIND. AT THAT POINT HAD BEEN INSTRUCTING DUTY TIME 10 HRS FLT TIME 7 HRS. FATIGUED BY LONG CAR DRIVE PREVIOUS DAY, SHORT NIGHTS SLEEP.
