Narrative:
We were being vectored for a visibility approach at rdu. It became apparent that the headings that issued and subsequently flown were not producing the desired ground track. Due to the high vol of traffic we were taken out of the sequence and then later landed. I then had a chat via phone with the controller and discussed the situation. Based on all the information that I had received, I had maintenance check out the aircraft. They found the dg's to be off somewhat in area of degrees that we were flying. This coupled with the fact that there was a strong wind out of the west may have caused us to track improperly.
