Narrative:
ZJX told us to 'descend to FL220; expect to cross 35 NM south of jax at 12000' and 250 KTS.' at 21600' center said, 'climb to FL220.' he said we were told to maintain FL220. Both the captain and I had heard FL210, set FL210 in altitude window and verified it, per our company's new altitude awareness program. Controller said there was a conflict and it would be investigated. When we landed in jax, we called center on phone and supervisor confirmed controller had given us FL210.
