Narrative:

The landing gear of my small aircraft aircraft retracted during landing rollout on runway 19L at john wayne airport. I slowed the aircraft to 125 mph IAS over uc irvine and commenced my first gumps check which resulted in a gear down and locked indication on the panel and 10 degrees of flaps. This procedure was completed prior to entering the downwind leg for runway 19L. My second and final gumps check was completed just after squaring to final resulting in confirmation of all checklist items and full flaps. T/D was smooth. To minimize rollout I brought the nose wheel down immediately and retracted the flaps. I then glanced quickly out the left window to confirm that the flaps were retracting normally (they were). My head snapped back forward when I heard the gear warning horn sound. I briskly extended my right arm across to the gear switch with a 'whack' to make sure that it was in the down position. Unfortunately it was too late at that point. I immediately felt the nose drop. I pulled the control wheel back to my chest and pulled the mixture to cutoff, hoping to get the propeller to stop, as the aircraft gracefully settled onto the gear doors.

Title: GEAR UP LNDG.

Narrative: THE LNDG GEAR OF MY SMA ACFT RETRACTED DURING LNDG ROLLOUT ON RWY 19L AT JOHN WAYNE ARPT. I SLOWED THE ACFT TO 125 MPH IAS OVER UC IRVINE AND COMMENCED MY FIRST GUMPS CHK WHICH RESULTED IN A GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION ON THE PANEL AND 10 DEGS OF FLAPS. THIS PROC WAS COMPLETED PRIOR TO ENTERING THE DOWNWIND LEG FOR RWY 19L. MY SEC AND FINAL GUMPS CHK WAS COMPLETED JUST AFTER SQUARING TO FINAL RESULTING IN CONFIRMATION OF ALL CHKLIST ITEMS AND FULL FLAPS. T/D WAS SMOOTH. TO MINIMIZE ROLLOUT I BROUGHT THE NOSE WHEEL DOWN IMMEDIATELY AND RETRACTED THE FLAPS. I THEN GLANCED QUICKLY OUT THE L WINDOW TO CONFIRM THAT THE FLAPS WERE RETRACTING NORMALLY (THEY WERE). MY HEAD SNAPPED BACK FORWARD WHEN I HEARD THE GEAR WARNING HORN SOUND. I BRISKLY EXTENDED MY R ARM ACROSS TO THE GEAR SWITCH WITH A 'WHACK' TO MAKE SURE THAT IT WAS IN THE DOWN POS. UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS TOO LATE AT THAT POINT. I IMMEDIATELY FELT THE NOSE DROP. I PULLED THE CTL WHEEL BACK TO MY CHEST AND PULLED THE MIXTURE TO CUTOFF, HOPING TO GET THE PROP TO STOP, AS THE ACFT GRACEFULLY SETTLED ONTO THE GEAR DOORS.
