Narrative:
Having been cleared to taxi to runway 5R from the ramp area with no detailed taxi route, I began to taxi to runway 5R via taxiway 'right'. We were conducting the pretkof checklist when suddenly the ground controller ordered our pilot (air carrier X) to stop immediately. Upon doing so, I observed we were following the green center way lgts onto runway 5/23, and had less than 5-10' before doing so. Air carrier Y was executing a missed approach. Looking around I noticed no taxi lgts indicating taxiway 'left' which we were planning to use. I discussed this later with tower manager and he informed me we were only one of a list of aircraft who had made a similar mistake and he was going to inform the city to reinspect the taxi light situation at that intersection. Supplemental information from acn 166520. Taxi and runway markings not clear and non existent. If hold short lines, lights or signs had been installed incident would have been avoided. More explicit taxi instructions might have prevented it also. (Construction on airport has greatly changed normal taxi patterns).

Title: RWY INCURSION BY ACR.
Narrative: HAVING BEEN CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 5R FROM THE RAMP AREA WITH NO DETAILED TAXI RTE, I BEGAN TO TAXI TO RWY 5R VIA TXWY 'R'. WE WERE CONDUCTING THE PRETKOF CHKLIST WHEN SUDDENLY THE GND CTLR ORDERED OUR PLT (ACR X) TO STOP IMMEDIATELY. UPON DOING SO, I OBSERVED WE WERE FOLLOWING THE GREEN CTR WAY LGTS ONTO RWY 5/23, AND HAD LESS THAN 5-10' BEFORE DOING SO. ACR Y WAS EXECUTING A MISSED APCH. LOOKING AROUND I NOTICED NO TAXI LGTS INDICATING TXWY 'L' WHICH WE WERE PLANNING TO USE. I DISCUSSED THIS LATER WITH TWR MGR AND HE INFORMED ME WE WERE ONLY ONE OF A LIST OF ACFT WHO HAD MADE A SIMILAR MISTAKE AND HE WAS GOING TO INFORM THE CITY TO REINSPECT THE TAXI LIGHT SITUATION AT THAT INTXN. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 166520. TAXI AND RWY MARKINGS NOT CLR AND NON EXISTENT. IF HOLD SHORT LINES, LIGHTS OR SIGNS HAD BEEN INSTALLED INCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. MORE EXPLICIT TAXI INSTRUCTIONS MIGHT HAVE PREVENTED IT ALSO. (CONSTRUCTION ON ARPT HAS GREATLY CHANGED NORMAL TAXI PATTERNS).
