Narrative:
Upon arrival at ZZZ; ramp informed us that the door was completely off of the dg (dangerous goods) can in position 1R. Additionally; the hazmat agent stated that the latches all appeared to be unlatched. It is impossible to know if the door was ever put into position or if it was installed and not latched. First officer (first officer) stated that she was unsure of its condition after inspection but was certain that the hose had been properly connected.there was a failure of the hazmat agent to properly close/latch the door as well as a failure of the ramp agent to visually confirm prior to closure of the rigid cargo barrier door.rigid compliance to dg procedures and independent verification is necessary.
