Narrative:

I was giving instruction in an small aircraft. We were doing consecutive takeoff and lndgs. We were on downwind leg preparing to land when another aircraft reported downwind for the same runway. While talking to this aircraft on the radio, and trying to locate and avoid this aircraft we both were distracted enough to overlook dropping the gear. We had the power off, and the flaps lowered and were descending nicely. With the power off and the gear up a loud warning horn should have sounded, but it evidently was not operating. Because of the distraction of the other aircraft, and the warning horn not operating we both overlooked the lowering of the gear on the checklist and landed with the gear up.
