Narrative:
On departure a compressor stall occurred on the number 3 engine when reducing power from max to climb power. We heard approximately 4 loud bangs and saw erratic N1 indications. We reduced power on the number 3 engine and accomplished the engine compressor stall QRH. Before returning back to [departure airport] we accomplished the fuel dump QRH. Once enough fuel was dumped we returned for an uneventful landing.
