Narrative:
While cruising at FL370 [the] purser called and stated passengers had noticed [a] burning smell in [the] rear part of the cabin. She was instructed to check out the area. She did not notice anything at the time. A few minutes later she called and said that multiple passengers were again smelling something electrical burning. The decision was made to divert. Dispatch was contacted and the diversion went without incident. Fire crew met the aircraft and observed no external issues; then boarded the aircraft to confirm the cabin was safe. Shut down and disembarking was normal from that point on.
