Narrative:
On the STOCR3 arrival into clt; at FL220 making the turn at [fllgg]. There was a quartering tailwind from the left. Encountered light then moderate and then severe turbulence which caused the aircraft to dip quickly to the left; between 60 and 90 degrees. The aircraft lost only 400 feet. We recovered. We informed ATC and they said the sector above had an airbus out ahead of us. Likely wake turbulence. ATC said they would make a report on their end as well.
