Narrative:

Conducting mutli engine training for CFI-mei, we were doing a single engine approach. Retarded throttle to simulate engine out, resulting in constant gear warning horn due to its low manifold pressure. We were so accustomed to the noise that neither of us realized the gear was still up. We believe there should be a different sound in multi training aircraft when only 1 throttle is retarded. Why can't FAA mandate this?
