Narrative:
After completion of ILS approach with less than minimum RVR and possible investigation, captain confessed aircraft 'may have been' over gross on takeoff, after computations of my own determined we were in fact over gross. I took action to ensure this didn't recur on our return trip. On the way home we encountered higher than forecast winds and several extensive deviations. Approximately 225 mi from destination I questioned the captain as to his intentions re: fuel, as I felt we would come up short. He felt we could make destination with VFR reserves. Approximately 30 mins later we diverted to cae and approximately 20 mins after that, while talking to approach, we declared minimum fuel. My opinion is that the captain used poor judgement on all counts today and I will avoid being scheduled with him again as first officer.
