Narrative:
On flight from day to clt, all normal ground and loading procedures took place. The passenger and baggage were loaded and I filled out the weight and balance form from the information on the weight manifest. Upon arriving in clt after the passenger disembarked, the flight attendant made the captain and myself aware that there was a problem with the ground personnel concerning baggage. The baggage handlers said that checked bags had been loaded in the aircraft cabin and that this was a violation. I was unsure if this was a violation, so I looked into all of my company provided manuals for any procedures restricting checked bags in the cabin. I was unable to find any policies restricting this type of operation. I was still unsure if a violation had taken place and was also unsure if I could have prevented it had I known that this was a violation because my only knowledge of bag placement is the form, which didn't show the checked bags in the cabin. I will do more research to find out if the baggage handler was correct about the violation and how I might mitigate further such occurrences.

Title: UPON ARRIVAL AT CLT, FLT CREW OF LTT WERE ADVISED THAT CHECKED BAGGAGE HAD BEEN BOARDED IN THE CABIN IN VIOLATION OF SECURITY REGULATIONS.

UPON ARRIVING IN CLT AFTER THE PAX DISEMBARKED, THE FLT ATTENDANT MADE THE CAPT AND MYSELF AWARE THAT THERE WAS A PROB WITH THE GND PERSONNEL CONCERNING BAGGAGE. I WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY POLICIES RESTRICTING THIS TYPE OF OP. I WILL DO MORE RESEARCH TO FIND OUT IF THE BAGGAGE HANDLER WAS CORRECT ABOUT THE VIOLATION AND HOW I MIGHT MITIGATE FURTHER SUCH OCCURRENCES.
