Narrative:
My wife was in the left seat. While looking for bur in the haze (though VMC), my wife and I observed an approaching aircraft with its landing lights on. We were landing at bur. The approaching aircraft was several mi from our aircraft. My wife turned to the left and the aircraft passed to the right and below us. The bur tower, however, after we had initiated the turn, called our attention to the other aircraft and said we were in the whiteman airport traffic pattern (downwind). He asked us to call him when we landed. I personally called him since I was operating the radios. We had a nice conversation about the matter. I do not believe that we were veer in a conflict situation visibility-a-visibility the other aircraft. However, the 2 airports are too close together and it is difficult to land on runway 15 at bur and not pass very close to whiteman.

Title: WHILE APCHING BUR SMA ENTERED WHP ATA.
Narrative: MY WIFE WAS IN THE LEFT SEAT. WHILE LOOKING FOR BUR IN THE HAZE (THOUGH VMC), MY WIFE AND I OBSERVED AN APCHING ACFT WITH ITS LNDG LIGHTS ON. WE WERE LNDG AT BUR. THE APCHING ACFT WAS SEVERAL MI FROM OUR ACFT. MY WIFE TURNED TO THE LEFT AND THE ACFT PASSED TO THE RIGHT AND BELOW US. THE BUR TWR, HOWEVER, AFTER WE HAD INITIATED THE TURN, CALLED OUR ATTN TO THE OTHER ACFT AND SAID WE WERE IN THE WHITEMAN ARPT TFC PATTERN (DOWNWIND). HE ASKED US TO CALL HIM WHEN WE LANDED. I PERSONALLY CALLED HIM SINCE I WAS OPERATING THE RADIOS. WE HAD A NICE CONVERSATION ABOUT THE MATTER. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT WE WERE VEER IN A CONFLICT SITUATION VIS-A-VIS THE OTHER ACFT. HOWEVER, THE 2 ARPTS ARE TOO CLOSE TOGETHER AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO LAND ON RWY 15 AT BUR AND NOT PASS VERY CLOSE TO WHITEMAN.
