Narrative:
Flight from srq to rsw. Taxi clearance was to runway 14 to hold short of runway 4. I did not focus on the taxi clearance as much as I should have and proceeded to taxi northwest on the 14/32 parallel taxiway for takeoff on runway 14. When starting across runway 4 I realized that I might have been cleared to hold short, but was already on the runway, so continued across. (There was a light aircraft on a long final approach to runway 4.) after crossing I asked the first officer if we had been cleared to hold short initially and he said we had been. There was no conflict and no comment from ground or tower control. This is the kind of thing I am usually extremely careful about and I really have no good explanation.

Title: RWY INCURSION. UNAUTH RWY ENTRY CROSSING.
Narrative: FLT FROM SRQ TO RSW. TAXI CLRNC WAS TO RWY 14 TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 4. I DID NOT FOCUS ON THE TAXI CLRNC AS MUCH AS I SHOULD HAVE AND PROCEEDED TO TAXI NW ON THE 14/32 PARALLEL TXWY FOR TKOF ON RWY 14. WHEN STARTING ACROSS RWY 4 I REALIZED THAT I MIGHT HAVE BEEN CLRED TO HOLD SHORT, BUT WAS ALREADY ON THE RWY, SO CONTINUED ACROSS. (THERE WAS A LIGHT ACFT ON A LONG FINAL APCH TO RWY 4.) AFTER XING I ASKED THE F/O IF WE HAD BEEN CLRED TO HOLD SHORT INITIALLY AND HE SAID WE HAD BEEN. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT AND NO COMMENT FROM GND OR TWR CTL. THIS IS THE KIND OF THING I AM USUALLY EXTREMELY CAREFUL ABOUT AND I REALLY HAVE NO GOOD EXPLANATION.
