Narrative:
Taxiing to the gate in deliver an aircraft behind us advised ground control that smoke and flames were coming from the right side of our aircraft. Immediately following this notification the APU fire warning light illuminated and the fire bell sounded. The captain called for APU fire checklist which the second officer accomplished. After discharging the APU fire bottle the warning light remained illuminated and the egt temperature showed off scale high. He captain commanded an emergency ground evacuation and I notified the ground controller that we were evacuating the aircraft. We accomplished our ground evacuation procedures as per the aircraft flight manual. All passengers and crew were directed to exit the aircraft out the left side only, away from the APU location. The evacuation was uneventful with 101 passengers and 7 crew members completing the procedure in less than 40 seconds.
