Narrative:
While returning from cape may, nj on 2/sat/91, the electrical system on the aircraft I was flying failed. I proceeded to enter the airport control area and remained above the traffic pattern. When I reached the airport I circled overhead until I was given the appropriate light signals. I landed at the airport and talked to the tower immediately. They told me that no reports need be filed. I believe that the system was worked on the previous day and that it must not have been fixed properly.
