Narrative:
While approaching byers at 6500' MSL, I was unable to contact den approach on 126.9 as published on a newly purchased TCA chart. Heading was 263 degrees, VFR inbound to den's TCA. Also unable to pick up ATIS on 120.3, so climbed to 8500' MSL at byers. Still unable to contact den approach. Luckily found an IFR approach book. Talked to ZDV, which gave us the frequency 121.1. Made contact with approach after making a 180 degree turn to east. Approach advised to descend to 7500' MSL and continue to aurora county. Informed approach unfamiliar with the area and they advised aurora airport 1 O'clock, 5 mi. I responded negative on airport. They advised airport 2 O'clock, 30 mi. Saw airport and proceeded on. About 1 mi out I realized wrong airport. Made left turn and located aurora airport to east and landed.
