Narrative:
Dual instructional flight departed at xx:35 for local traffic pattern. After 4 circuits student flew first supervised solo. Departure, pattern, and landing appeared normal. On takeoff roll following touch and go, the aircraft exited the runway to the left and came to rest in a ditch. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information. Reporter states that FAA has investigated and considers the matter an incident. Reporter feels the student just panicked when aircraft started off center and did not respond. There was no injury, aircraft had wingtip and nose gear damage.

Title: SPI ON FIRST SOLO DOING TOUCH AND GO LOSES CTL. RWY EXCURSION.
Narrative: DUAL INSTRUCTIONAL FLT DEPARTED AT XX:35 FOR LCL TFC PATTERN. AFTER 4 CIRCUITS STUDENT FLEW FIRST SUPERVISED SOLO. DEP, PATTERN, AND LNDG APPEARED NORMAL. ON TKOF ROLL FOLLOWING TOUCH AND GO, THE ACFT EXITED THE RWY TO THE L AND CAME TO REST IN A DITCH. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO. RPTR STATES THAT FAA HAS INVESTIGATED AND CONSIDERS THE MATTER AN INCIDENT. RPTR FEELS THE STUDENT JUST PANICKED WHEN ACFT STARTED OFF CTR AND DID NOT RESPOND. THERE WAS NO INJURY, ACFT HAD WINGTIP AND NOSE GEAR DAMAGE.
