Narrative:
I was departing myf for L26, planning on following a friend in another aircraft. This was my first time flying into and out of this TCA. On departure I lost sight of the other aircraft and was getting close to some clouds. We had planned on departing east at 3000' MSL. The cloud tops were at 3100', broken and scattered, so I went to 3500' MSL to get above these small clouds and could not see my friend visually. We were talking to each other on the radio and he said he was at 2500' MSL and below the clouds. I decided to turn north on a 340 degree heading and ascend to 4500' MSL. My friend asked me if I had the reservoir in sight yet and I told him I could not see through the clouds well enough to determine my exact position, but I thought I was ok and I would meet him at L26. He reminded me of the TCA at miramar and warned me to be careful. I was using his TCA chart (my first time on a TCA chart) and I thought I was clear. When we arrived at L26, we discussed this incident and determined that I had probably infracted the TCA through the 3800' floor area east of miramar NAS. In retrospect, better flight planning and preparation would have helped me to avoid this incident.

Title: UNAUTH PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE.
Narrative: I WAS DEPARTING MYF FOR L26, PLANNING ON FOLLOWING A FRIEND IN ANOTHER ACFT. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME FLYING INTO AND OUT OF THIS TCA. ON DEP I LOST SIGHT OF THE OTHER ACFT AND WAS GETTING CLOSE TO SOME CLOUDS. WE HAD PLANNED ON DEPARTING E AT 3000' MSL. I DECIDED TO TURN N ON A 340 DEG HDG AND ASCEND TO 4500' MSL. MY FRIEND ASKED ME IF I HAD THE RESERVOIR IN SIGHT YET AND I TOLD HIM I COULD NOT SEE THROUGH THE CLOUDS WELL ENOUGH TO DETERMINE MY EXACT POS, BUT I THOUGHT I WAS OK AND I WOULD MEET HIM AT L26. HE REMINDED ME OF THE TCA AT MIRAMAR AND WARNED ME TO BE CAREFUL. I WAS USING HIS TCA CHART (MY FIRST TIME ON A TCA CHART) AND I THOUGHT I WAS CLR. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT L26, WE DISCUSSED THIS INCIDENT AND DETERMINED THAT I HAD PROBABLY INFRACTED THE TCA THROUGH THE 3800' FLOOR AREA E OF MIRAMAR NAS. IN RETROSPECT, BETTER FLT PLANNING AND PREPARATION WOULD HAVE HELPED ME TO AVOID THIS INCIDENT.
