Narrative:
Taxi from X aviation to Y aviation. Instructed to hold short of active runway. After this instruction was received, the captain told me to switch to clearance delivery and get our clearance. As I was trying to get clearance, I was looked down to write and we crossed the active runway in front of a landing large transport. The pilot may have been thinking ahead too far for the flight by wanting to get the clearance. He should have waited to get clearance at other FBO. Both pilots should be aware of surroundings.

Title: UNAUTH RWY ENTRY CROSSING.
Narrative: TAXI FROM X AVIATION TO Y AVIATION. INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT OF ACTIVE RWY. AFTER THIS INSTRUCTION WAS RECEIVED, THE CAPT TOLD ME TO SWITCH TO CLRNC DELIVERY AND GET OUR CLRNC. AS I WAS TRYING TO GET CLRNC, I WAS LOOKED DOWN TO WRITE AND WE CROSSED THE ACTIVE RWY IN FRONT OF A LNDG LGT. THE PLT MAY HAVE BEEN THINKING AHEAD TOO FAR FOR THE FLT BY WANTING TO GET THE CLRNC. HE SHOULD HAVE WAITED TO GET CLRNC AT OTHER FBO. BOTH PLTS SHOULD BE AWARE OF SURROUNDINGS.
