Narrative:
I also didn't expect to be directed to runway 19R for takeoff since I was coming from an FBO on the east side of the ramp. Since jet traffic was using 19R, I expected to be put on 19L. After my runup, I was instructed to taxi north on C and hold short of runway 19R before calling the tower. I don't believe that I read this back. Since my taxi clearance didn't include (or I didn't hear) a 'hold short of runway 19L,' I believed I could cross runway 19L on my way to runway 19R. When reaching the north end of the taxiway, I turned, crossed the end of runway 19L, and stopped at a hold line. When I called the tower, I was informed that I 'had crossed an active runway' and that I was still on runway 19L. The airport was much larger than what I'm used to and in the dark I mistook runway 19L's west side hold line with runway 19R's east side hold line. I taxied forward, was cleared for takeoff after some traffic cleared, and flew back to cable. The flight north was routine and my plting performance seemed normal.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: UNAUTHORIZED RWY ENTRY XING OP.
Narrative: I ALSO DIDN'T EXPECT TO BE DIRECTED TO RWY 19R FOR TKOF SINCE I WAS COMING FROM AN FBO ON THE E SIDE OF THE RAMP. SINCE JET TFC WAS USING 19R, I EXPECTED TO BE PUT ON 19L. AFTER MY RUNUP, I WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAXI N ON C AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 19R BEFORE CALLING THE TWR. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT I READ THIS BACK. SINCE MY TAXI CLRNC DIDN'T INCLUDE (OR I DIDN'T HEAR) A 'HOLD SHORT OF RWY 19L,' I BELIEVED I COULD CROSS RWY 19L ON MY WAY TO RWY 19R. WHEN REACHING THE N END OF THE TAXIWAY, I TURNED, CROSSED THE END OF RWY 19L, AND STOPPED AT A HOLD LINE. WHEN I CALLED THE TWR, I WAS INFORMED THAT I 'HAD CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY' AND THAT I WAS STILL ON RWY 19L. THE ARPT WAS MUCH LARGER THAN WHAT I'M USED TO AND IN THE DARK I MISTOOK RWY 19L'S W SIDE HOLD LINE WITH RWY 19R'S E SIDE HOLD LINE. I TAXIED FORWARD, WAS CLRED FOR TKOF AFTER SOME TFC CLRED, AND FLEW BACK TO CABLE. THE FLT N WAS ROUTINE AND MY PLTING PERFORMANCE SEEMED NORMAL.
