On approach to runway xx in ZZZ in VMC; [the] controller issued [a] visual approach clearance. I began to descend and the aircraft system gave us a terrain caution. We had visual with terrain the whole time and [the] terrain map was pulled up on [the] mfd (multi-functional display). ATC advised terrain clearance and there was no disruption.
