Narrative:

I had received my IFR clearance and advised I was ready to taxi. I was at an FBO that was at the start of runways 25 and 33. At det the runways blend into the txwys. There is no spacing between taxiway and runway, other than painted lines. I had landed in det 1 other time to find myself taxiing to runway 25 and nearly crossing over onto the runway. I caught this hold short just in time. I was asked to taxi to 33 and hold short. Taxiing slowly and knowing from the past that it is tricky to see the lines due to aging pavement, I taxied toward runway 33. Edging up, I received a call from ground stating that I had crossed the hold short line and was on the runway. They asked if I would do a 180 degree turn and hold short. Turning around, I found the hold short line and realized I had intersected the line at an angle. Again this is all pavement with only paint as markings. The threshold is a couple hundred ft from this hold short and this caused me to continue to inch forward. I could have corrected this error had I told the ground controller I was unfamiliar with the airport or asked for a progressive to the hold short line. The airport was not that busy and I'm sure that ground could have helped.

Title: GA PLT INADVERTENTLY ENTERS RWY AT DET. FADED PAINT MARKINGS A FACTOR.

Narrative: I HAD RECEIVED MY IFR CLRNC AND ADVISED I WAS READY TO TAXI. I WAS AT AN FBO THAT WAS AT THE START OF RWYS 25 AND 33. AT DET THE RWYS BLEND INTO THE TXWYS. THERE IS NO SPACING BTWN TXWY AND RWY, OTHER THAN PAINTED LINES. I HAD LANDED IN DET 1 OTHER TIME TO FIND MYSELF TAXIING TO RWY 25 AND NEARLY XING OVER ONTO THE RWY. I CAUGHT THIS HOLD SHORT JUST IN TIME. I WAS ASKED TO TAXI TO 33 AND HOLD SHORT. TAXIING SLOWLY AND KNOWING FROM THE PAST THAT IT IS TRICKY TO SEE THE LINES DUE TO AGING PAVEMENT, I TAXIED TOWARD RWY 33. EDGING UP, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM GND STATING THAT I HAD CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND WAS ON THE RWY. THEY ASKED IF I WOULD DO A 180 DEG TURN AND HOLD SHORT. TURNING AROUND, I FOUND THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND REALIZED I HAD INTERSECTED THE LINE AT AN ANGLE. AGAIN THIS IS ALL PAVEMENT WITH ONLY PAINT AS MARKINGS. THE THRESHOLD IS A COUPLE HUNDRED FT FROM THIS HOLD SHORT AND THIS CAUSED ME TO CONTINUE TO INCH FORWARD. I COULD HAVE CORRECTED THIS ERROR HAD I TOLD THE GND CTLR I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT OR ASKED FOR A PROGRESSIVE TO THE HOLD SHORT LINE. THE ARPT WAS NOT THAT BUSY AND I'M SURE THAT GND COULD HAVE HELPED.
