Narrative:

As the passenger were leaving the aircraft at gate 30 at msp, a passenger that was seated at seat 30C knocked a boat mooring pole out of the overhead bin while retrieving some luggage. This pole struck a passenger, who was seated in seat 29B, on the head. This pole was carried on the aircraft by the passenger who was seated at seat 30B. Paramedics were called and an ice pack was applied to passenger head. Boat mooring poles should be carried in the baggage compartment as checked baggage.

Title: BOAT MOORING POLE STORED IN OVERHEAD BIN IN CABIN FELL OUT STRIKING FEMALE PASSENGER ON HEAD. FIRST AID FROM MEDIC CALLED FOR AND HEAD INJURY TREATED WITH ICE PACK.

PARAMEDICS WERE CALLED AND AN ICE PACK WAS APPLIED TO PAX HEAD. BOAT MOORING POLES SHOULD BE CARRIED IN THE BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT AS CHKED BAGGAGE.
