Narrative:
With our company, the current pilot pay policy discourages crews from writing up discrepancies with problem aircraft due to the fact that 'maintenance cancels' result in lost pay. When crews experience mechanical problems, they are inclined to continue the trip and fly so their pay will not be lowered. This results in aircraft flying scheduled passenger trips with mechanical deficiencies. Not a safe practice.
