Narrative:
Upon taking the runway and cleared for takeoff on runway 23L, I nearly took off on 28. This is the intersection at the end of lima taxiway. As I made the turn and spooled up, the first officer told me we were aligned on 28 and not 23. A real save! I think better signs, flasher lights or caution signs should be installed at that intersection, especially for reduced visibility conditions--snow, etc. Even a reminder to check compass heading for alignment would be good.
