Narrative:
On this pleasure flight I overflew pme lake, upon which my family was spending some time on the beach. I was in touch with pontiac tower as to my orbiting the lake, and as to my altitude, 2500' MSL, and pine lake is approximately 980' MSL. I maintained over 1500' AGL at all times, and I was constantly squawking altitude on mode C. There are no large obstructions in the area. The area is north of the detroit TCA, which was no factor. I submit this report because a witness stated that the aircraft seemed low, and was able to determine the color of the aircraft, although not the registration #. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following: callback completed to see if observer had turned pilot into the FAA and whether any action pending. Reporter claims he was at altitude reported and that witness/reporter was his wife. Since he does represent defendants in cases of violation with the FAA, he decided to follow his advice of sending in a report in case anyone else thought he was too law. Further stated that his wife was 'user friendly' and not likely to turn him in on a violation of federal aviation regulations.

Title: SMA PLT IN POSSIBLE LOW FLT OVER LAKE REPORTER BY OBSERVER.
Narrative: ON THIS PLEASURE FLT I OVERFLEW PME LAKE, UPON WHICH MY FAMILY WAS SPENDING SOME TIME ON THE BEACH. I WAS IN TOUCH WITH PONTIAC TWR AS TO MY ORBITING THE LAKE, AND AS TO MY ALT, 2500' MSL, AND PINE LAKE IS APPROX 980' MSL. I MAINTAINED OVER 1500' AGL AT ALL TIMES, AND I WAS CONSTANTLY SQUAWKING ALT ON MODE C. THERE ARE NO LARGE OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE AREA. THE AREA IS N OF THE DETROIT TCA, WHICH WAS NO FACTOR. I SUBMIT THIS RPT BECAUSE A WITNESS STATED THAT THE ACFT SEEMED LOW, AND WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THE COLOR OF THE ACFT, ALTHOUGH NOT THE REGISTRATION #. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING: CALLBACK COMPLETED TO SEE IF OBSERVER HAD TURNED PLT INTO THE FAA AND WHETHER ANY ACTION PENDING. RPTR CLAIMS HE WAS AT ALT RPTED AND THAT WITNESS/RPTR WAS HIS WIFE. SINCE HE DOES REPRESENT DEFENDANTS IN CASES OF VIOLATION WITH THE FAA, HE DECIDED TO FOLLOW HIS ADVICE OF SENDING IN A RPT IN CASE ANYONE ELSE THOUGHT HE WAS TOO LAW. FURTHER STATED THAT HIS WIFE WAS 'USER FRIENDLY' AND NOT LIKELY TO TURN HIM IN ON A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL AVIATION REGS.
