Narrative:
U42 is an uncontrolled airport with helicopter aircraft stationed there. After being released from the slc TCA, I called for an airport advisory, which I received, and entered the downwind for runway 34. I called my intentions and turned base, then called my intentions and turned final approach. On the left side of the runway, 1/4 down the field was a helicopter hovering. This is normal because they go and do what they want to. I came on final, as I reached the runway and began my flare. As I passed the helicopter he came over the radio helicopter taking off left side of runway. His backwash flipped me against my nose wheel and bent the propeller. Why can't helicopter's use the pattern as outlined in far, and respect another aircraft on final? I was not physically hurt, but someone else may not be so lucky!
