Narrative:
I flew into orange where a fly-in was being held. My x-country heading was 140 degrees which placed me in a position to enter downwind for runway 32 which was in use according to pilots announcing their intentions on CTAF. I heard pilots announcing their initiation of the 45 degree entry to downwind from a small lake landmark. I altered course to fly over the lake and entered a 45 to downwind. The traffic was heavy and there was haze. I entered downwind, turned base, then finally announced my position as I proceeded. I was on short final, flared out before I realized I was landing on runway 1 rather than 32. The displaced threshold markings tended to mask the runway # markings. To abort the landing and climb would have placed me in the flight path of aircraft taking off from 32. I elected to continue the landing. I did not know people on the ground using hand-held radios were directing landing traffic left off 32, down 19 to the closed runway to transient parking (see red arrows on diagram). There were 3 aircraft taxiing on their left side of 19 as I landed on 1. I had my landing light on and stayed to my left. I was solidly on the ground and slowed down before I passed the first aircraft. The runway was 150' wide and the wingtip sep was 60-90'. I turned in behind the 3 aircraft and followed them to the parking area. One of the 3 pilots became incensed. He obviously had never made a mistake nor was ever faced with a decision such as faced me as my wheels settled onto the runway. The hand-helds were not using 122.8.

Title: PLT OF SMA ENTERED WRONG TRAFFIC PATTERN AT UNCONTROLLED ARPT. LANDED WRONG RWY. ENCOUNTERED ACFT TAXIING OPPOSITE DIRECTION ON THE RWY.
Narrative: I FLEW INTO ORANGE WHERE A FLY-IN WAS BEING HELD. MY X-COUNTRY HDG WAS 140 DEGS WHICH PLACED ME IN A POS TO ENTER DOWNWIND FOR RWY 32 WHICH WAS IN USE ACCORDING TO PLTS ANNOUNCING THEIR INTENTIONS ON CTAF. I HEARD PLTS ANNOUNCING THEIR INITIATION OF THE 45 DEG ENTRY TO DOWNWIND FROM A SMALL LAKE LANDMARK. I ALTERED COURSE TO FLY OVER THE LAKE AND ENTERED A 45 TO DOWNWIND. THE TFC WAS HEAVY AND THERE WAS HAZE. I ENTERED DOWNWIND, TURNED BASE, THEN FINALLY ANNOUNCED MY POS AS I PROCEEDED. I WAS ON SHORT FINAL, FLARED OUT BEFORE I REALIZED I WAS LNDG ON RWY 1 RATHER THAN 32. THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD MARKINGS TENDED TO MASK THE RWY # MARKINGS. TO ABORT THE LNDG AND CLB WOULD HAVE PLACED ME IN THE FLT PATH OF ACFT TAKING OFF FROM 32. I ELECTED TO CONTINUE THE LNDG. I DID NOT KNOW PEOPLE ON THE GND USING HAND-HELD RADIOS WERE DIRECTING LNDG TFC LEFT OFF 32, DOWN 19 TO THE CLOSED RWY TO TRANSIENT PARKING (SEE RED ARROWS ON DIAGRAM). THERE WERE 3 ACFT TAXIING ON THEIR LEFT SIDE OF 19 AS I LANDED ON 1. I HAD MY LNDG LIGHT ON AND STAYED TO MY LEFT. I WAS SOLIDLY ON THE GND AND SLOWED DOWN BEFORE I PASSED THE FIRST ACFT. THE RWY WAS 150' WIDE AND THE WINGTIP SEP WAS 60-90'. I TURNED IN BEHIND THE 3 ACFT AND FOLLOWED THEM TO THE PARKING AREA. ONE OF THE 3 PLTS BECAME INCENSED. HE OBVIOUSLY HAD NEVER MADE A MISTAKE NOR WAS EVER FACED WITH A DECISION SUCH AS FACED ME AS MY WHEELS SETTLED ONTO THE RWY. THE HAND-HELDS WERE NOT USING 122.8.
