Narrative:
ATC clearance was for the ziggi one arrival to han. Captain had revised his charts prematurely, therefore upon reaching the calverton VOR, we flew outbound on the 002 radial, a procedure that was effective on july xx, instead of on the calverton 057 degree radial, as was effective on the date in question. What should have caught our attention was that the procedure effective july xx was renamed bound one arrival and for changes it notes that this is a new procedure for this airport. Pilots should note the effective date of procedure changes and not use the new procedure prematurely! Problem was noted hen approach control asked us how we were navigating and where we were heading.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: LTT FLIES WRONG RADIAL DUE TO USING PROC PRIOR TO EFFECTIVE DATE.
Narrative: ATC CLRNC WAS FOR THE ZIGGI ONE ARR TO HAN. CAPT HAD REVISED HIS CHARTS PREMATURELY, THEREFORE UPON REACHING THE CALVERTON VOR, WE FLEW OUTBOUND ON THE 002 RADIAL, A PROC THAT WAS EFFECTIVE ON JULY XX, INSTEAD OF ON THE CALVERTON 057 DEG RADIAL, AS WAS EFFECTIVE ON THE DATE IN QUESTION. WHAT SHOULD HAVE CAUGHT OUR ATTN WAS THAT THE PROC EFFECTIVE JULY XX WAS RENAMED BOUND ONE ARR AND FOR CHANGES IT NOTES THAT THIS IS A NEW PROC FOR THIS ARPT. PLTS SHOULD NOTE THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF PROC CHANGES AND NOT USE THE NEW PROC PREMATURELY! PROB WAS NOTED HEN APCH CTL ASKED US HOW WE WERE NAVING AND WHERE WE WERE HDG.
