Narrative:
At FL290 TCASII commanded a RA climb of 1500 FPM due to an aircraft climbing to FL280. We climbed aircraft to 29600 at which time TCASII system indicated 'clear of traffic'. We notified ATC of TCASII climb from assigned altitude. First officer saw aircraft at this time 3-5 mi in 3 O'clock position. ATC did not inform us of this traffic.
