Narrative:
The beacon system of the chicago approach radar is marginal at best. We frequently lose altitude data and loss of tracking of aircraft occurs regularly. The problem has been reported numerous times and repeated 'fixes' have not solved the problem.

Narrative: THE BEACON SYS OF THE CHICAGO APCH RADAR IS MARGINAL AT BEST. WE FREQUENTLY LOSE ALT DATA AND LOSS OF TRACKING OF ACFT OCCURS REGULARLY. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN RPTED NUMEROUS TIMES AND REPEATED 'FIXES' HAVE NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
