Narrative:
Wwv and wwvh (HF radio frequency 2.500, 5.000, 10.000, 15.000) transmit GMT time. At 15 and 7 1/2 seconds before the min they are supposed to say the time. In the united states this is the way it works. I just returned from guam where I was unable to hear any voice transmission. Setting the exact time is critical to omega navigation and is impossible as even different controllers in gum tower are 1 or 2 mins off on their time marks. Is there a problem with wwv and wwvh or are these frequencys not planned for use in the central pacific?
