Narrative:
Passenger flight from lansing, mi, (lan) to mackinac island, mi, (Y84) and back, in an small aircraft. I made the trip 2 weeks earlier in the same plane in 3.8 hours, burning 42 gallons of fuel. When I landed back at lansing this time, the plane took 46 1/2 gallons of fuel. The plane is rated at 48 gallons usable. Normally, I'd refuel at the destination, but mackinac island doesn't have fuel. I didn't want to stop unnecessarily on the way for fuel to save money on the hobbs meter. I'm going up again tomorrow, though, and you'd better believe I'll stop this time. P.south. Passenger 3 times asked about fuel before and during trip.
