Narrative:
Captain followed marshaller's instructions and stayed on line. #2 engine nacelle came in contact with belt loader. Only indication was when operations called to say 'you're marshaller wasn't paying attention and he ran you into a belt loader.' it appeared that if the aircraft had stopped 3-4 inches sooner contact would not have been made. Corrective action: the ramp is extremely congested with ground equipment. Possibly a wing walker as employed on large aircraft in the military might help.
