Narrative:

After receiving ATIS, ground control gave me clearance to taxi to runway 16. After following an small aircraft to 16 I had no other radio contact. I could not receive ground control, approach, departure or the other aircraft. After I did my runup, I tried again. I got no answer. I did a 360 degree circle and saw no traffic. I was a little nervous but I followed the small aircraft off the runway. I took off as he was passing through 150 ft. I didn't even see any light signals.

Title: UNAUTH TKOF PERFORMED BY SPI WHEN UNABLE TO ESTABLISH RADIO CONTACT WITH TWR.

Narrative: AFTER RECEIVING ATIS, GND CTL GAVE ME CLRNC TO TAXI TO RWY 16. AFTER FOLLOWING AN SMA TO 16 I HAD NO OTHER RADIO CONTACT. I COULD NOT RECEIVE GND CTL, APCH, DEP OR THE OTHER ACFT. AFTER I DID MY RUNUP, I TRIED AGAIN. I GOT NO ANSWER. I DID A 360 DEG CIRCLE AND SAW NO TFC. I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS BUT I FOLLOWED THE SMA OFF THE RWY. I TOOK OFF AS HE WAS PASSING THROUGH 150 FT. I DIDN'T EVEN SEE ANY LIGHT SIGNALS.
